Gerald R. "Jerry" Kelley age 70, passed away Sunday evening December 14, 2014, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville after a 16 month battle with cancer. He was born in Dansville on March 22, 1944, a son of the late Alton G. and Blanche (Robinson) Kelley. He was also predeceased by his brother's Ronald and Terry Kelley Sr., On October 15, 1983, he was married to Kay Warner Kelley who survives. Jerry was a welder and radiographer at the former Foster Wheeler Energy Corp in Dansville for thirty -seven years retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Conesus Lake Riders Club, the James H. Jackson Hose Company of the Dansville Volunteer Fire Department, the SAL at the Daniel Goho Post of the American Legion. In his free time he enjoyed working on and driving his GTO, Harley Davidsons, Jeep, Corvette, Ford Pickup, MG Midget and anything else with a motor. Jerry loved Dansville, if he had it his way he would never leave, he was a good neighbor and friend to many. He was an avid Nascar fan following his favorite driver Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed a cold OM Light in the garage. Jerry and Kay spent many years at Sun Valley Campground where they had a seasonal campsite. Surviving in addition to his dear wife, Kay are his children, Michelle Fairbrother "Shelly Kelley" of Springwater, Chris (Diane) Hamsher of Wayland, Dave (Kelly) Hamsher of Sparta, Missi (Philipp) Mehlenbacher of FL, a sister Joyce (Jerry) Brown of Sparta, eleven grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and his loyal dogs, Cinder, Jasper and Becca. Memorial calling hours will be held on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville. Services will be held privately. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneral Home.com. In lieu of flowers please make memorials to American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
