Dansville- Nancy C. Conklin, age 80, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening July 29, 2015, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester following a long illness. She was born in Dansville, on June 9, 1935, a daughter of the late F. Howard and Ruby Mae (Folts) Culbertson. She was also predeceased by a son Jack Conklin. On May 16, 1952, she was married to Donald W. Conklin, who survives. Active in politics, Nancy was a member of the Livingston County and Town of North Dansville Republican Committees, a former councilwoman for the Town of North Dansville, a member of the Town of North Dansville and Village of Dansville Planning Board where she spent many hours developing the Master Plan for both Town and Village. She was a member of the Dansville Presbyterian Church, treasurer and member of the Dansville Lioness Club, the Kate J. Jackson Court of Amaranth, the Dansville Woman's Civic Club, a volunteer at Noyes Memorial Hospital, and the former Sexton of South Sparta Cemetery. Nancy and Don were members of the Dansville Lion's Club Minstrel Show chorus for many years. In her free time she also enjoyed her flower gardens, bird watching, reading, and making sure to attend her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, activities, performances and celebrations. Nancy was formerly employed at Blum Shoe Factory, Foster Wheeler Energy Corp., Shay's Service Inc., and was retired from Bennett Brother's Construction. Surviving in addition to her husband Don, are her son, Peter (Terrie Applin) Conklin, a daughter in-law, Mary Lou Conklin, four grandchildren, Riley and Ryan Conklin, Megan Conklin, Kaitlin (Matthew) Musto, great-grandchildren, Addison and Milania Musto; a sister Carol Jean (Frank) Gottschall, and a brother, James (Linda) Culbertson. A memorial service will be held Monday at 12:00 noon at the Dansville Presbyterian Church, 3 School St. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. Arrangements are by Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com.
