Obituary of Rev. Paul Ray Sherman

Canaseraga- Rev. Paul Ray Sherman, age 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ late Friday evening August 21, 2015, at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. He was born in Hornell on November 4, 1929, a son of the late James Ray and Pauline (Maynard) Sherman. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Luva Jackson, Marion Murphy, Edna Knight, Arlene Wagner-Bowen and Orrin Sherman. On February 10, 1973, he was married to Randi Sherman, who survives. Paul was a US Navy veteran serving from 1948 to 1950 on board the USS Putnam and the USS James C. Owens as a Telegrapher. Paul became an ordained minister in 1962 and served until his passing. He completed Missionary work in Haiti, Mexico and Canada, during this time he founded World Mission Fellowship Inc. He was an Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher as well as a Church founder. Paul was a published author of the book “Many Small Make a Great”. He enjoyed painting, fishing, hunting, farming and being an outdoorsman. He also enjoyed woodworking and carpentry. He was an accomplished singer and songwriter. He had a passion for the guitar and piano. He was also a former Cub Scout Leader. Surviving in addition to his wife Randi, are his children, Anna (Bruce) Blake of Arkport, Kirk (Dianne) Sherman of VA, Toko (Frank) Eveland of FL, Cheryl Holbrook and Joseph (Jessica) Sherman both of Arkport, 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Masters Tabernacle, 29 North Church St., in Canaseraga, where services will follow calling hours. Interment with Full Military honors will be in Bath National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St., Dansville. Online remembrances may be left at HindleFuneralHome.com. He was a devoted husband, father and cherished his family and the Lord Jesus with all his heart.
